Layne Jackson is the designer behind Layne Jackson Handbags. Originally from Texas, schooled in Canada and educated in Paris, she now works and lives in Chicago, in the historic East Village neighborhood.

With a fine arts background, and twenty years of creating and exhibiting large-scale artwork, Layne initially began painting vintage and classic handbags as gifts for friends. When other people saw them, and asked where they came from, a new division of the studio was launched and the bags began appearing in boutiques in the Chicago area. Currently available at Layne Jackson Showroom at 1941 W Division Avenue, the newest crop of bags are classic, with individual designs created for each bag. They are finished with a durable water-based varnish, to achieve a nice gloss and insure long-wearability.

The studio can also custom paint a handbag from your collection to create a special look for a special occasion.
